Soccer Shots offers weekly classes that introduce soccer to Pre-K and Kindergarten students as a way to get kids excited about sports and an active lifestyle.
In each 35-40 minute class, treatment experienced, decease enthusiastic instructors focus on having fun while guiding children through imaginative games that teach basic soccer skills. The curriculum extends beyond physical activity to incorporate values like teamwork, encouragement and cooperation. The enhancement of a child’s coordination, balance and agility is often seen immediately, but it is the building blocks being created for a life long love of sports that have the strongest impact.
The exercise that children receive during their Soccer Shots sessions has benefits that can carry over into the classroom. Pediatrician Vincent Lannelli, M.D. says, “While exercise is good for everybody, it provides a double payoff for children, because while they build a healthy base today increasing their capacity for good academic performance, children also are laying the groundwork for a healthier tomorrow. In addition, studies have shown that aerobic activity may improve memory.”
A free demonstration will be offered to all of students at For Kids Sake on Wednesday, March 23rd beginning at 9:00 at the Dexter location and 5:00 at the Pinckney location. Groups of 10-15 children at a time will participate in the fifteen-minute sessions. Parents are welcome to attend!
