Dear Families, order
As many of you know FKS has made the shift to primarily web-based news. Limiting the amount of printed matter we send home saves paper and ink. It also saves time. When teachers spend less time producing these kinds of documents, they have more time for child-focused activities. They will also be able to continue to send home weekly news so you can feel connected to your child’s curriculum as it unfolds.
As parents, we realize that sending fewer pieces of paper home will mean fewer things for you to keep track of. Instead of adding to a pile of papers on your kitchen counter, we will keep important information neatly organized in email blasts, on our website and on our Facebook page. Events, curriculum notes, and important reminders will be one click away.
The following is a comprehensive list of the ways we communicate with parents
Blog: Several times a month (or more) we will post news about For Kid’s Sake and/or interesting news relating to early childhood from other sources. Please feel free to contribute comments to our blog or add information that may help other families on the topic. http://www.forkidssakeelc.com/blog-2/
Twitter: Blog and Facebook posts will also post to Twitter. If you follow us on twitter, you can get quick & easy updates about our happenings. Very convenient! http://twitter.com/#!/forkidssakeelc
Calendars: We have a center wide calendar on our website under Parents/Calendar. There, you can see details about monthly themes, specially planned kid activities and you can print a copy to hang on your fridge, if you prefer. http://www.forkidssakeelc.com/parents/calendarandmenu/
FPS Update: We will continue to publish our all-center newsletter on a monthly basis, and will e-mail copies to parents who have selected to receive them. http://www.forkidssakeelc.com/parents/forparentssakeupdates/
E-mail messages, texts and phone calls: Staff will continue to use e-mail and text for communicating special photos and information with parents. The telephone is always an option and will remain a tool for urgent messages.
Bulletin Boards: We will continue to post notes about events and other timely info on our parent bulletin boards at the centers.
Facebook: Facebook helps us connect with new and old families, friends, community members and staff. If you’re on Facebook, please become a fan of FKS. We post interesting links, event invitations and/or FKS updates regularly. But most importantly, we share photos of our children in the depths of play and learning. http://www.facebook.com/forkidssake
Thank you for your willingness to grow with us in this way and continue to make these improvements. If you have web-accessibility issues, please let your teachers know so we can accommodate you with an alternative. As always, we welcome your feedback.
